About Traveling in Colombia, South America

We spent 6 months living and traveling in Colombia and it ranks up there as one of our favorite places to explore.  Everything from the food, the people, and the climate (though Cartegenia is brutally humid) were enjoyable and even now we find ourselves thinking back on what we did and the people we met.

Colombia has done a done to clean up their image since the 1980s and it’s never been safer to travel throughout the country.  No, this doesn’t mean you can be reckless, but every city has come a long way since the country’s violent past and improvements in infrastructure + safety are obvious.

If you’re looking for cities where the food is cheap, the weather mild, and getting around is easy, then Colombia is for you.
